Mr. Hathaway, an Ohio Native, started Hathaway Electric in 1987 after serving in the United States Marine Corps and completing his Master Electrician’s certification. In 1998 he began a new division, Hathaway Generators. Demand increased for home standby generators after several historic weather events in the Williamsburg area such as the Christmas Eve ice storm and hurricanes Irene and Isabel. Mr. Hathaway strives to maintain the values he acquired in the Marines: honesty, diligence, and quality workmanship to name a few. He has built this company on those high standards. As the company name now transitions into Hathaway Power he is proud to provide the same trusted service our customers are accustomed to. When not running Hathaway Power, Mr. Hathaway serves on the Board of Directors for his wife’s non-profit organization Heart for Orphans.
